Snippets come in a few shapes. Paragraph snippets answer a question in forty to sixty words. List snippets pull out steps or ranked items. Table snippets lift comparison data. Google chooses which page to feature based on how cleanly a passage answers the query, and the page does not have to be ranked first to be selected, which is why snippets are one of the few genuine shortcuts in search.
Earning one is mostly a formatting exercise applied to content that is already good. Put a question-shaped heading on the page, answer it in the first sentence or two underneath, and keep the answer self-contained so it makes sense lifted out of context. Use ordered lists for processes and tables for comparisons, because those formats map directly onto snippet types. Then expand below with the detail that makes the page worth clicking.
This habit has become more valuable, not less, as AI answers have spread. The qualities that make a passage snippet-worthy, direct, self-contained, plainly written, are the same qualities that make it citable by an answer engine and useful to an AI chat widget. Clerkzo learns from your pages, so writing answer-first content improves what it can tell your visitors at the same time as it improves your search visibility.
